This repeat offense features Dubya inaccurately claiming that his nominee to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor -- Harriet Miers -- had been named numerous times as one of the top 50 or top 100 women lawyers in America. The truth is that once in 1998, she was named as one of the 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers by the National Law Journal, and in 2000, she was named one of the 100 Most Influential Lawyers by the same publication. Any guess as to why she was selected as one of the most influential lawyers? That's right: Her relationship with George W. Bush.
