And those who served in my cabinet, some of whom honored me by flying down on the airplane today, Margaret Spellings, Secretary of Education, Alberto Gonzales, Attorney General. I wanna thank a fabulous staff of people. I was truly blessed to have people, uhh, work with me, people who came to Washington, D.C., not to serve George Bush, not to serve a political party, but they came because they wanted to serve the United States of America, and they did a fabulous job, and I be — will be forever grateful.

That is an — part of — a, part of the story I have seen. We are a fabulous country. We are a great nation, because the people of this country are caring, and decent, and courageous, and strong, and compassionate.

We had a — people — we — I had a fabulous team around me of highly dedicated, smart, capable people, and we had fun. I tell people that, you know, some days happy, some days not so happy, every day has been joyous.

Mr. Vice President and Lynne, thank you for joining us. Vice President Cheney has been a fabulous Vice President of the United States.

And all the representatives from America Samoa, really appreciate you all coming. Apologize for the weather, but I don't apologize for the policy, because we're fixing to do some fabulous policy.

Laura is going to be — listen, my wife has been a fabulous First Lady, she really has.

So, see, you don't know what I know — that every time I go to an embassy overseas and I mention anything about the Peace Corps, and there happens to be a Peace Corps contingent — they give that same kind of yell. Peace Corps volunteers are incredibly motivated people and it's a fabulous program. ...What they're doing is they're showing the rest of the world the compassionate heart of the American citizen. I mean, we are a compassionate nation and the Peace Corps does a fabulous job of advancing that compassion.

We want to thank our choir and our orchestra and all the fabulous performers for taking time out of your busy schedules to help — to support this really important part of Washington. And Gatlin is probably saying, of course I said that for the crowd last year. But, no, it really was fantastic. And it's such an uplifting performance and a reminder of what a great president Abraham Lincoln was. I do want to thank Paul Tetreault for being a really fabulous director of the Ford's Theatre. And I want to thank the Gala co-chairs and all the people who support the Ford's Theatre. I know you're excited about the opening of the renovated Ford's Theatre in February 2009. I'm going to tell you something. We have fabulous health care in America, just so you know. I think it's very important — before people start griping about the health care system here — and of course there's always grounds for complaint — just to compare it with other systems around the world. And one of the reasons our system is expensive is because some of the new technologies that are coming online, they happen to be saving lives.

You know, I'm a really lucky guy to have a wife who is patient enough to put up with me as President of the United States, is wise enough to seize the moment, and is compassionate enough to worry about the lives of our fellow citizens. She's a fabulous First Lady.

I want to — I appreciate our Secretary of State who has joined us today. Condoleezza Rice, I'm proud you're here. Thanks for joining us. You're doing a fabulous job, by the way.

Anyway, I went there and spent a month or so on their sheep farm in Glen Isle, I believe it is. It was a fantastic experience. First of all, it's a fabulous family, and their farm is beautiful.

Laura didn't come with me. She's out west with our daughter, Jenna, in the Grand Canyon. How about that? She's doing a great job as the First Lady. She is a fabulous wife and a great mom, and she sends her best to all the good folks who work here at Calvert Cliffs.

I'm sorry my wife isn't here. Yes, I know, most people are sorry — she's not here instead of — she's here — she's not here instead of me. But she is doing great. I'm a lucky man when Laura said, I do. She is a fabulous First Lady, a great mom and a great wife.

One of the reasons I asked Ken Mehlman to serve as the chairman of our party is because he is a man of vision, he is an idealistic soul. He is willing to take our message to every neighborhood in the United States of America. He did a fabulous job in managing my campaign in 2004. I'm proud to call him Chairman of the Republican Party. ...Many of you know Laura as a friend. I'm fortunate to know her as a wife. She is a great mother and a fabulous First Lady for the United States. ...I just had a chance to shake hands with Leader Bill Frist, who's doing a fabulous job.

One of the things that I find so attractive about enabling people to save some of their own money is the sense of participation in the system, I guess is one way to say it. It's — as you said, it makes you proud. But it's your asset base. And your little guy, 13-year-old son — some day, if you choose, it becomes a part of his asset base. And the capacity to pass property from one generation to the next is more than just passing a piece of land — which is a fabulous story, by the way.

Gosh, it's wonderful to be back in Montana. What a fabulous state, full of really decent, honorable people.

Laura and I are really honored to be here to — it's a fabulous moment in our Nation's Capital. This morning reminds us that prayer has always been one of the great equalizers in American life.

I'm really proud of Dick Cheney, my Vice President. He is a fabulous man, a man of sound judgment and great character, and I'm honored to serve with you, Dick.

[Laura] was a public school librarian when I asked her to marry me. She said, I'll marry you just so long as I don't have to give any speeches. It's the only political promise I've ever broken. And thankfully, I broke it. What a fabulous, articulate woman she is.

One good reason to put me back in there for four more years is so that Laura will be the First Lady. Thank you. I married well. What a fabulous woman she is.

I'm never disappointed in my Secretary of Defense. He's doing a fabulous job, and America is lucky to have him in the position he's in.

Fortunately, she said yes when I asked her to marry me, and now she is a fabulous First Lady of our country.

Let me — let me say something about the FBI. Pete's boss is Bob Mueller. He's now the Director of the FBI. Mueller is doing a fabulous job.

This country is a fabulous country because we've got good, honorable people who are willing to serve at all levels of government. And one of the key levels of government, of course, is running the city hall.

My one regret tonight is that Laura isn't here. She is a fabulous lady. She's a great First Lady for our country. She is a wonderful wife, a great mother, and she's doing a heck of a job on behalf of the American people.

One of the people I've tasked with coming up with solutions to the problems we face is Secretary Ann Veneman. She's done a fabulous job on behalf of the people of the United States. She is a common sense purpose — person.

Listen, this guy [Secretary of State Colin Powell] has done a fabulous job. Washington, particularly in August, is a dangerous period — a dangerous time, because there's a lot of speculation.

Dr. Condoleezza Rice is an honest, fabulous person. And America is lucky to have her service. Period.

It's an unimaginable honor to be the President of such a fabulous country. I say "fabulous country" because there is no doubt in my mind we can achieve anything we put our mind to.

No, mentoring is a fabulous, fabulous part of the American society.

Now here she is, the First Lady of the United States. Thank goodness. What a fabulous job she is doing. ...And Fred Thompson is leading that charge. And as he succeeds, and when he succeeds, he will leave behind a fabulous legacy for future administrations and senators. ...[Lamar Alexander] loves his family, he loves his country, he's got fabulous values. ...I named a fabulous woman out of Texas, named Priscilla Owen to the 5th Court.

My, we have got a fabulous United States military.

We've got a fabulous United States military, and they're on the hunt.

More than one person, Chris, said they wished Laura were here. ...Now she's the First Lady of the United States, and she's doing a fabulous job.

Rod [Paige] did a fabulous job in Houston, and he's doing a darn good job here in Washington, D.C.

I'm really proud of Laura. ...She didn't care for politics and didn't particularly like politicians. Now she's stuck with one. And she's doing a fabulous job as First Lady.

I'm off to New Mexico, and after I spend the afternoon in New Mexico, I'll be back in Crawford, Texas, where I'll tell the First Lady of your thanks. By the way, she's doing a fabulous job.

And I picked my neighbor, somebody from Compton, to serve in an incredibly important position, particularly for the folks in this part of the world, and that is to serve as our Secretary of Agriculture. Ann Veneman is doing a fabulous job.

I appreciate Congressman Greg Walden being here, as well. I don't know if —All I can see is a hand and an shining head. But Walden is a good man; he's doing a fabulous job as a congressman.

We've got a fabulous military, a lot of young men and women who are taking a risk on behalf of freedom.

And now here she is, the First Lady of the United States, and she's doing a fabulous job.

I want to thank our Secretary of Agriculture, Ann Veneman. She's doing a fabulous job.

I want to thank Elaine Chao of my Cabinet, and Dave Lauriski, who is the Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administrator, for being here. They tell me, Dave, you did a fabulous job.

I'm sorry the First Lady is not here with me — she's hiking. But I can't tell you how proud I am of her. She's doing a fabulous job as the First Lady of the United States.

I love coming to North Carolina. It's a fabulous state, full of fabulous people.

I believe, I believe this country, I know this country is a fabulous country. But I believe we've got great days ahead of us.

This is a fabulous country in which we live, it is. And it's because the people are fabulous.

You know, you know better than me that — you've see a lot of America in your day, and it's a fabulous country that we're able to call home.

I want to thank Daniel Rodriguez for lending his fabulous voice in tribute after tribute to the greatness of America.

It's going to be hard to do what they've done — 90 children over 35 years is a fantastic feat. But it's a fabulous tribute to Americans making the decision to help somebody.

Tommy [Thompson] did a fabulous job as the governor of Wisconsin in helping people, and he's doing a great job as the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

I am really proud of my wife. She's done a fabulous job. She's been a great First Lady.

She's a fabulous, fabulous First Lady — who is going to spend time reminding people that classroom teachers, people in the classroom, are incredibly important for America.

It's good to welcome Mitt Romney back to the White House. Mitt, you did a fabulous job.

This is a fabulous country and I want to thank you all.

And that thing greater than ourselves is freedom. And that thing greater than ourselves is a country based upon fabulous values.

Everybody in Crawford says hello, starting with Laura. She is doing a fabulous day. I tell people it's because she's from Midland, Texas.

I recognize I'm not exactly Bernadette Peters — but she did a fabulous job last night to fill this hall.

We're a country based on fabulous values.

No question in my mind these are tough times for America. But there's no question in my mind we'll prevail. Right is on our side. And we'll prevail, because we're a fabulous nation, and we're a fabulous nation because we're a nation full of fabulous people.

But all in all, it's been a fabulous year for Laura and me.

No, the country — this country is a fabulous country. They thought they hurt us, the evil ones. They have made us stronger, more real, and a better land.

I also am so pleased and thrilled to be with my friend, the Governor, who is doing a fabulous job for the people of New York.

It's an honor to receive this award from such a fabulous organization as Little League Baseball and, on behalf of the presidency, thank you for what you do.
