Today, we had a rocket attack that took a lot of lives. Any time of the year it's a time of sorrow and sadness when we lose a loss of life.

Now, one of the important aspects of my vision is that this is not automatic citizenship. The American people must understand that. That if somebody who is here working wants to be a citizen, they can get in line like those who have been here legally and have been working to become a citizenship in a legal manner.

George is rightly — rightly proud of the people of the Agency, and I have been proud to work with George. George has carried great authority without putting on airs, because he remembers his roots. There's still a lotta Queens in George Tenet.

I assured President Musharraf that there is an opportunity at hand to work toward the development of a Palestinian state and peace in the Middle East. I told him that this will be a priority of my administration. The goals is two states living side-by-side in peace and security.

Tommy [Thompson] was commenting on the fact that we're a large company — country, with all kinds of avenues where somebody can inflict harm.

I'm the kind of fellow who does what I think is right, and will continue to do what I think is right.

The deficit is less than we thought because the revenues is exceeding projections. And the reason why the revenues — the revenues are exceeding projections — sometimes I mangle the English language. I get that.

And next Tuesday, the American people will go to the polls. They will be voting for vision. They will be voting for consistency. They will be voting for conviction. And no doubt in my help, they'll be voting for Bush/Cheney.

I think the job of a problem is to confront problems, not to pass them on to future Presidents and future generations.

Americans will go to the polls in a time of war and ongoing threats any unlike we have seen before.

And then came the attack on the USS Cole in 2000, which cost the lives of 17 American sailors. In this period, America's response to terrorism was generally piecemeal and symbolic. The terrorists concluded this was a sign of weakness, and their plans became more ambitions.

BOB SCHIEFFER: Suddenly we find ourselves with a severe shortage of flu vaccine. How did that happen?
DUBYA: Uhhh — Bob, we relied upon a company out of England to provide about half of the flu vaccines for the United States citizen, and it turned out that the vaccine they were producing was contaminated. And so we took the right action and didn't allow contamidated medicine into our country.

The last debate, my opponent said well they only — those lawsuits only caused costs to go up by 1 percent. Well, he didn't — he didn't in — include the defensive practice of medicine, that costs the federal government some 28 billion dollars a year and costs our society between 60 and 100 billion dollars a year. Uhh, thirdly, one of the reasons why there's still high cost in, in medicine is because this is — the, the, the, they don't use an information technology. It's like if you looked at the — it's the equivalent of the — of the buggy and horse days.

You cannot solve a problem unless you diagnose the problem. And we weren't diagnosing problems. And therefore just kids were being shuffled through the school. And guess who would get shuffled through? Children whose parents wouldn't speak English as a first language just move through.

I believe part of a hopeful society is one in which somebody owns something.

We spend money on research and development to expand the use of renewables, technologies to help us live different ways at the same lifestyle we're accustomed to.

Uhh — I hear there's rumors on the, uhh, Internets that we're gonna have a — draft. We're not going to have a draft. Period.

It is naive and dangerous to take a policy that he suggested the other day, which is to have bilatarelations with North Korea.

When a drug comes in from Canada, I want to make sure it cures you and doesn't kill you. And that's why the FDA and that's why the Surgeon General are looking very carefully to make sure it can be done in a safe way. I've got an obligation to make sure our government does everything we can to protect you. And what my worry is is that, you know, it looks like it's from Canada, and it might be from a third world.

And so people are going to have to look at the record. Look at the record of the man running for the President.

On the tax cut, it's a big decision. I did the right decision.

Americans spend 6 billion hours a year filling out their tax reforms.

My concerns about the Senator is that, in the course of this campaign I've been listening very carefully to what he says, and he changes positions on the war on Iraq. It's a — changes positions on something as ff — fundamental as what you believe in your core, in your heart of hearts is right for — in Iraq. I — you cannot lead if you send mexed miss — mixed messages.

But I, again, I wanna tell the American people, we're doin' everything we can at home, but you better have a president who chases these terrorists down and bring 'em to justice before they hurt us again.

In Iraq, no doubt about it, it's tough. It's hard work. It's incredibly hard. You know why? Because an enemy realizes the stakes. The enemy understands a free Iraq will be a major defeat in their ideology of hatred. That's why they're fighting so vociferously.

We honor the servicemen and women of Great Britain, Bulgaria, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Thailand, and Ukraine have died.

We'll transform these systems so all citizens are equipped, prepared, and thus, truly free to make your own choices so you can realize the great promise of America.

I'm telling you, too many good docs are getting sued time and time and time again by frivolous lawsuits.

Senator Kerry opposed Medicare reform and health savings accounts. After supporting my education reforms, he now wants to tilute them.

It's only fair if other countries treat us the way they treat them.

Last weekend we're continuing to implement our strategy of la verdad, the truth.

I just want you to know there's a lot of really good people who are working hard and long hours to protect your, people at the federal level, people at the state level, first responders here at the local level.

We phased out the death tax, so America's family farmers can stay in the family.

We will not rest until every America who wants to find a job has one.

I went to the United Nations and said, he's [Saddam Hussein is] a threat. And they agreed with the fact that he was a threat, by a 15 to nothing vote in the United Nations Security Council. See, the world spoke. Not only America speak, the world spoke.

People were nervous during the recession. Then we got attacked, and I'm going to talk a little bit about making America safer. But we got attacked on September 11th. It hurt our economy. In other words, you're in a recession, then we have an attack.

This disease leaves suffering and orphans and fear wherever it reaches. Every man and woman and child who suffers from this addiction, from the streets of Philly to the villages of Africa, is a child of God who deserves our love and our help.

I — you know, look, it's important for people to know that I've got a future that — I believe in a future that is peaceful, based upon liberty. And I remember my predecessor, whose life we mourn, Ronald Reagan, they felt the same way about him.

This is an historic times.

Rick Sanchez has done a fabulous job. He's been there for a — a long time. His service has been exemplorary.

This is historic times.

It's essential that we be successful at transforming the police force into — and the forces that are there to protect infrastructure into a viable force which works, with a good command structure, an Iraqi command structure, so that projects can forward.

So as I told His Majesty [King Abdullah of Jordan], I said, we will — people will be brought to justice in a way commiserate with how our system works.

For years, when we grew up — at least us baby boomers grew up — we thought that oceans would protect us from harm's way.

Where are my AmeriCorps buddies? There they are. Did you change shirts? You look too pretty. I was out there watching them help get rid of the invasees — invasive grasses and species that is threatening the watersheds and threatening the wetlands.

Gary [Lytton] is interested in not only, uhh, preserving beauty, he's interested in learning as much as possible to share the knowledge across our country. He's also pretty good about linin' up these volunteers and makin' sure they work. I said, does Gary keep you workin'? He said, you bet. That's good. That's called, uhh — that's called leadership. But Gary, thanks for, thanks for what you're doin'. He tells me that much of the property bought here is a result of — uhh — the bonding issue that Jeb pushed to make sure that much of the great state of Florida is, umm — prodected and preserved — uhh, thoo-out the years to come.

There is no doubt in my mind that this country cannot achieve any objective we put our mind to.

Frank was a paratrooper. In those days you could measure the enemy by the number of battalions and number of tanks and number of airplanes. Now the enemy hides in caves. They lurch in the shadows of the world.

The United Nations Security Council looked at the intelligence and said, Saddam is a threat. And so, for about the — I can't remember how many times they said it, but they said, disarm. See, you're a threat. Disarm. There's a reason why a lot of people made the conclusion. It was not only based upon intelligence, it was based upon the fact that he hated America, that he's willing to pay suiciders to go kill people in Israel, that he actually used weapons of mass destruction on his own people.

Good evening. Before I take your questions, let me speak with the American people about the situation in Iraq. This has been tough weeks in that country.

Coalition forces have encountered serious violence in some areas of Iraq. Our military commanders report that this violence is being insticated by three groups.

DUBYA: It was my way to — to help kick off the baseball season.
SPORTSCASTER: That's neat.
DUBYA: I, I really think it's, uhh — an integral part of the — fabric of our society, and, uhh — I'm, I'm gonna try to do my part to make sure baseball gets the notoriety it deserves.

I just met with Specialist Chris Hill's family from North Carolina. You know, I told the family how much we appreciated his sacrifice — he was killed in Iraq — and assured him that we would stay the course.

There was corporate scandals in America that betrayed the trust.

I urge others to take time out of your life to make a difference in a child who may be lonely.

I saw a threat. The Congress saw a threat. The United Nations Security Council saw a threat in the form of Saddam Hussein. He was not only a threat to people in the Middle East because of terrorist ties. He's a threat to America or anybody else who loved freedom. He's a threat to his own people. He had torture chambers and mass graves.

There's a lot of signs that the economic plan we put in place are working.

If an insurance carrier can spread risk across a variety of people or a variety of firms, it makes it more likely his health care goes down.

There's other things we need to do, as well. We need to worry about the cost of health care.

Dr. [Raja] Khuzai also was there to have Thanksgiving dinner with our troops. And it turned out to be me, as well.

We can outcompete with anybody.

And one of the most fantastic aspects about our society, and frankly, it's the entrepreneurial spirit that we're heralding today that is enabling us to overcome a lot of obstacles.

It's hard to be successful if you don't make something somebody doesn't want to buy.

I thought there's a lot of bull in Washington, D.C. But I'm really glad to be here at the livestock show. It's — somebody said, what's it like when you come here? It's like being in a place with people who are willing to stand up to values that are important in this country.

We will not stand for government discrimination of people of faith.

In spite of the fact that we've got large bankrolls and wealth, beyond imagination for many people in the world, in our own society there's darkness and loneliness and addiction and wonder — wonder whether their life is worth anything.

My views are one that speaks to freedom.

A lot of times, this country talks about our strengths, and we should. We talk about the military strength of America. And that's important. And we're going to keep us strong.

See, when a stock market sometimes indicates — is a predictor of the future, and sure enough, in the first quarter of 2001, the country was in a recession.

I hope to have the sovereignty passed over, and I think we will, by June the 30th.
